Children of the Light:
What do you have in common with early Friends?
Registration Deadline: October 30th
JYMers arrive at Woolman Hill
If you are arriving after 7 p.m. please let us know if you will be getting food on the way or if we should save you a plate.
Brief introduction of participants, location and theme
It's a process... ;)
Children take turns helping with meal prep and clean-up
Beginning exploration of theme
If you're not on prep or clean-up you can explore our many choices of indoor and outdoor games and crafts - or invent some of your own!
There will be some Choice Time mixed in with some whole group games, thematic workshops, small groups, and other special events.
Enjoy some solo down time!
They know the drill by now :)
This slot is more of a fun wind-down time than a thematic exploration. In the past we have done talent shows, flashlight tag, story time, and vespers. TBD!
Hopefully we have tuckered them out so that it's less of a process :)
We will miraculously transform Woolman Hill to its original state before breakfast...
Closing Circle, some sort of last hurrah, and any loose ends
Parents are invited to join
You will be asked a series of questions to help us register each retreat participant. The questions will repeat for each person and will change based on your selections. After you complete the form for the first Friend, you can add additional additional participants or complete the registration.
Required fields will be marked with an asterisk "*". If you run into any difficulty please contact the Kara Price at [email protected].
You will be asked these questions about each person you register.
Please note: information on health and food allergies will only be shared with those who need it to keep Friends safe at this event. If you have questions about how your data is used, please consult the NEYM Data Privacy Policy or contact the YM office. The full COVID and Illness Policy for in-person events can be found here.
Our retreat cooks prepare all meals primarily focused on vegetarian/vegan fare. If you have special dietary health needs, please let us know below so we can plan accordingly.

We will be staying in the main building of the Woolman Hill Retreat Center and occasionally making a very short walk on level group (approx. 60 feet) to the Meetinghouse. The main building has nine rooms, with 2-4 beds in each. Children often sleep on the floor.
New England Yearly Meeting of Friends is committed to making the life of our faith communities more accessible and removing barriers to participation whenever possible, and to offering a wider welcome to those seeking nourishment in the Quaker tradition.
In keeping with our commitment to removing barriers to participation for Friends regardless of financial means, the youth retreats continue our experiment with the Pay-As-Led approach to event fees.
If you are indeed unable to pay anything at this time, you will have an option to pay $0 to attend this event, as with Annual Sessions. For those with greater financial resources, you may make a tax-deductible donation to support the attendance of others with more limited means and the wider ministries of New England Friends by visiting neym.org/donate.
Budget Fee: $0-50 Covers a portion of direct costs.
Direct Cost Fee: $100 Covers the direct costs of the retreat and a small portion of staff time.
Direct Cost + Help Others: $200+ Covers the full cost (direct and indirect) of the retreat and supports the attendance of others.
Any amounts in excess of the basic fee will be treated as a tax deductible donation to the Equalization Fund to support the participation of all Friends in Sessions and other events sponsored by New England Yearly Meeting
